Let’s take a look at another space-saving technique for OneDrive. Let’s say you’ve used or opened a folder on your computer in the past and it now occupies valuable space.
- Right-click on that folder
- Click “Free Up Space”
The file will be removed from the computer, leaving only a shortcut. But, the file still exists in the cloud in your OneDrive! If you want to work on the file again, just double-click it to open it and it will be downloaded to your computer again (Internet connection required.)
